Serving Guide

Portion Size: a wedding portion is defined as 1" x 1" x 5-6" tall and a dessert portion is 1" x 2" x 5-6" tall.

Guest numbers to cater for: If cake is the only dessert option, my recommendation is to allow for every guest to have one slice. If your event includes open bar or an additional dessert option, my recommendation is to allow around 75-80% of your guest numbers to have a slice of cake as not everyone will want one.

Additional portions: Kitchen cakes can be provided if you require additional portions or if you would prefer a smaller cake but to cater for larger numbers.

Faux tiers: consider replacing real cake tiers with artificial 'faux' tiers should you prefer a big cake but not as many portions. There may be a cost reduction with this option but please note that a significant proportion of the price of your cake is for the decorating time. Fully faux cakes with kitchen cakes for serving is also an option to consider especially during the warmer months. Please note, some designs may require faux tiers.
